How does an optical mice work?

1.In optical mice a red light emitting diode shines a light and this light bounce off a surface and gets detected by CMOS(complementary metal-oxide semiconductor sensor).

2.This sensor takes a picture 1500 times per second.

3.The computer moves the cursor on the screen based on the coordinates received from the mice.

4.These pictures are received by digital signal processor (DSP) that analyzes picture.

5.Optical mouse is the way to better tracking and smooths the total experience.

How does an optical mice work?

1. An optical mice has an inbuilt sensor and this optical sensor reads the movements of the optical mice with the help of the light rays which comes out from the bottom.

2. Optical mice do not have any moving parts, that's why they work on variety of surface to sense the motion ,an optical mouse uses a RED LED and a small camera at the bottom side and this camera takes thousands of pictures every second.

3.The Complementary Metal Oxide Semiconductor (CMOS) sensor send each image to a Digital Processor for analysis.

4.  The computer moves the cursor on the screen based on the coordinate received from the mice and this work will help the computer users to indicate the correct place as well as right work.

5.Optical mice is giving the user better response times, tracking and smooths the total experience as well as ability to be used on ever more surfaces.

optical mouse

1.Most optical mice use a small, red light-emitting diode (LED) that bounces light off that surface onto a complimentary metal-oxide semiconductor (CMOS) sensor.
2.The CMOS sensor sends each image to a digital signal processor (DSP) for analysis.
3.The DSP detects patterns in the images and examines how the patterns have moved since the previous image.
4. Based on the change in patterns of images the DSP determines how far the mouse has moved and sends the corresponding coordinates to the computer.
5.The computer moves the cursor on the screen based on the coordinates received from the mouse. This happens hundreds of times each second, making the cursor appear to move very smoothly.

How does an optical mouse work?

Optical mice developed by “Agilent Technologies” and introduced to the world in late 1999. The works of optical mouse is given below:-
1. The optical mouse actually uses a tiny camera to take thousands of pictures every second. It’s also able to work on almost any surface without a mouse pad.
2. Most optical mice use a small, red light-emitting diode that bounces light off that surface onto a complimentary metal-oxide semiconductor (CMOS) sensor. This results in the ability to use a laser-based optical mouse on even more surfaces than an LED mouse.
3. The CMOS sensor sends each image to a digital signal processor (DSP) for analysis. The DSP detects patterns in the images and examines how the patterns have moved since the previous image.
 4. Based on the change in patterns over a sequence of images, the DSP determines how far the mouse has moved and sends the corresponding coordinates to the computer.
5. The computer moves the cursor on the screen based on the coordinates received from the mouse. This happens hundreds of times each second, making the cursor appear to move very smoothly.

·         The pictures are processed and analyzed by digital signal processor (DSP).

·         The technology underlying the modern optical computer mouse is known as Digital Image correlation a technology pioneered by the defense industry for tracking military targets.

·         Optical mice use image sensors to image naturally occurring texture in materials such as wood, cloth, mouse pads and ormica.

·         An optical mouse might use an image sensor having an 18 × 18 pixel array of monochromatic pixels. Its sensor would normally share the same as that used by ASIC for storing and processing the images. ALSO Optical mouse don’t need a special surface, such as a mouse pad.

Optical mouse or opto mechanical mouse

The computer mouse or optical mouse detects the surface on by shining a light-emitting diode (Led). Many advanced optical mouse use lasers instead of LED. these mouse are identified by examining the bottom of the mouse as shown in picture to the right. In which a round ball rolled against a mouse pad to indicate movement. These might be called optical mouse or opto mechanical mouse.

General work of an optical mouse.

Generally an optical mouse uses a tiny camera to send input to a computer.
But the subsequent optical mice use a red light-emitting diode (LED), as the LED bounces from the surface it gets detected by a complementary metal-oxide semiconductor (CMOS).
The sensor takes the reflecting picture 1,500 times per second approx.
These pictures are received by digital signal processor (DSP) that analyzes picture.
Depending on the pictures that were taken by the mouse sensor, the DSP determines where the mouse cursor should move and sends that response to the Computer.

HOW TO OPTICAL MOUSE WORKS? (sakib)

An optical mouse or ''optic mouse'' normally uses a light emitting diode or photo-diodes. Optical mouse capture one thousand successive images or more per second. The earliest optical mice detected movement On pre-printed mouse pad surfaces. Whereas modern optical works on most opaque surfaces. It is detect movement on specular  surfaces like glass.

ABOUT SAKIB (Myself)

I am a student of metropolitan university. My home district is sylhet. I am passing my ssc and hsc in shahjalal jamia islamia school and  college, sylhet. Then I admitted into metropolitan university.                                                                           So, I have to say something myself. I am person who is positive about every aspect of life. There are many things to like to do , to see and to experience. I like to read, I like to write; I like to think, I like to dream, I like to listen. My best friend is my mother. She always take care me. I like to see the sunrise in the morning, Ilike to see the moonlight at night. I like to look at the clouds in the sky with a blank mind.I like to sleepy.
An optical mouse is an advanced computer pointing device that uses a light-emitting diode (LED), an optical sensor, and digital sign. The optical mouse takes microscopic snapshots of surface at a rate of more than 1,000 images per second. Now perfect device for  pointing and clicking is the opticle mouse. If the mouse is moved, the image change. This is an asset in graphics applications, and it makes computer operation easier in general.

• 1. Optical mice changed all of that instead of a moving ball or wheel, an optical mouse uses a tiny camera to send input to a computer

• 2. The pad was made of reflective material and covered with a grid of lines that disrupted the beam of light.

• 3. The Optical mouse projected a beam of light that reflected off of a special mouse pad onto a sensor.

4.  An optical mouse has to do more thinking than a mechanical mouse, since part of its job is to analyze the pictures it takes for patterns.

• 5. The computer moves the cursor on the screen based on the coordinates received from the mouse.
