How does an optical mouse work?

Fig- Optical Mouse

• 1. Optical mice changed all of that instead of a moving ball or wheel, an optical mouse uses a tiny camera to send input to a computer

• 2. The pad was made of reflective material and covered with a grid of lines that disrupted the beam of light.

• 3. The Optical mouse projected a beam of light that reflected off of a special mouse pad onto a sensor.

4.  An optical mouse has to do more thinking than a mechanical mouse, since part of its job is to analyze the pictures it takes for patterns.

• 5. The computer moves the cursor on the screen based on the coordinates received from the mouse.
